Is There a Formula to Get a Job?

Finding a job relatively sounds easy, however, when we think of finding a well-paid job is not as easy as we expect. Due to the fact that Mexican people are not well- prepared and just a few of the population achieves a university education, that is even worse the fact that people find more difficult getting a good job, which is the backbone to support families. But, what are the things that trigger to live in such a situation?

One of the things that is necessary to bear in mind is education. Education might be the clue to have a better lifestyle. I dare to say that government should focus on investing more money in schools and universities. Through this, more people would have the opportunity to study in order to be well prepared and get a better job because the better prepared you are, the more probabilities you have to succeed.

Nowadays, there are more adolescents who drop school because they have to work and pay for their expenses, or even worse, to start working to support a new family. Consequently, this fact makers them accept whatever sort of job because they did not even finish high school.

It is true that tons of factors are involved to analyze unemployment and the one which we must not leave behind is crime. As youth people do not have the opportunity to study, due to the fact that government cannot support them, they decide to earn money in an easy way: stealing things and committing crimes. If we think deeper, most of the times youth people prefer to spend their time in a way which is not constructively to them. Something that government should take into account to halt the problem, if that were to happen, crime would considerably decrease.

Whilst in Mexico people have to deal with the concern that daily life implies getting a job and feeding their families at the same time, in other countries as the United States, government gives unemployed people support meanwhile they find a new job. Obviously, there is a huge difference between a country with such a financial stability.

Summing up, unemployment is a topic which could have a lot of factors to be explained, however, the most suitable solution it is to offer more educational strategies. The result of having more well- prepared people surrounding would have a great impact in our way of thinking to be a powerful country.

Tidal Power

It has been presented a new alternative source for generating electrical energy whose dams have certain similarities in hydroelectric power plants. However, despite of the advantages that this new source establishes, it has been pointed out some factors which seem to carry withdraw effects.

Firstly, it is mentioned that through the usage of tidal power there exists an environmental impact which affects the local wildlife. In other words, as the quality of water is changed, the amount of sediments affects all aquatic creatures whose habitat is destroyed.

On the other hand, fish which migrate are nor allowed to pass the barrage used, even though, it can be a provision to make them move, the expenses considerably increase. At the same time, it is considered that using this sort of power, people would be affected somehow. In this sense, fishing bouts would not be able to navigate, factor that also affects the economy of the region.

The points mentioned before are aspects which must be taken into account in order to have a better criterion in its usage and aspects that can be changed to get a new and beneficial source of energy.

Origin of Life

The origin of life in our planet is still unknown to us, even though, researchers have been looking for many reasons to explain how life started millions of years ago. Stanley Miller, a graduate student at University of Chicago, made an experiment which intended to explain the origin of life. Miller did this experiment using factors which were adopted as they happened in the origin of earth. However, there exist unknown aspects which did not explain how the first cell was developed to trigger life in the earth.

Although the results of the experiments seemed to be determined, scientifics claimed there are aspects that were wrongly implemented in such experiment. For instance, the continuous electrical storms were not as frequent as they were in the origin of earth because they were more frequent in the experiment than they really were. At the same time, there was lack of oxygen in the experiment according to the amount of oxygen that the origin earth contained, having the impression that the simulated gases were false. Moreover, in Miller’s experiment amino acids were not found. It is believed that meteorites contained them and when they hit the surface, their organic compounds scaped from them starting the origin of life.

Many judgments have raised from this experiment; however, it is still a mystery to everybody to know how the cell that gave life was reorganized into a living structure in the planet.

Are Serial Killers Victims of the Society?

It is difficult to believe and understand how there exist human beings who kill their fellows just for pleasure. However, behind all this criminals minds there is a black precedent which makes these people behave in such violent way. To have a better understanding about serial killers’ behaviour and the most common patterns that they present, it is necessary to know which type of killer is known as serial.
According to the legal definition, a serial killer is the person who commits a number of murders of over a long period.

To specify, it is considered a serial killer the person who kills three or more people whose victims are usually unknown for him. Serial killers present a similar background which is the most important factor that triggers serial murders commit from petty crimes to unbelievable murders. It is said that a serial killer presents an antisocial personality disorder, which is developed by circumstances that affected their self-esteem since they are little kids.

Antisocial Personality Disorder is a condition characterized by persistent disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others that begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood. Deceit and manipulation are central features of this disorder

Serial killers attack their victims because of a variety of psychological urges, and the typical one is the lack of power. Richard Trenton, for example, was considered one of the worst serial killers in the United States. Trenton claimed to suffered sexual abuse by his own mother when he was a little kid. Eventually, he started to develop other disorders as bedwetting and pyromania just in his childhood. In his adulthood, he developed alcoholism and hypochondria. He claimed his heart would stop beating time after time. It was not enough when he began to kill animals and mix its raw organs in a blender with coke to get a milkshake. That was the reason why he was well- known as The Vampire of Sacramento. Moreover, he had killed women to have sex with the corpses and mutilate them. When he was arrested, he decided to kill himself rather than finding his death in the gas chamber.

On the other hand, Andrei Chikatilo did not leave behind the fact of intending to force women to have sex with him, and then mutilating their bodies using a knife or just his teeth. This person was called The Butcher of Rostov who continued causing murders and pain towards many women. However, behind this person was a tragic childhood. When he was a child, Ukraine was in the midst of famine and he was a chronic bed wetter. Because of this, he was berated by his mother. Also, when the Soviet Union entered World War II he and his mother were force to watch how their hut was burnt.

Then again, another rapist who belongs to the category of serial killer is Albert Fish. Fish was a cannibal and a child rapist. In this case, he had a precedent of mental illnesses like religious mania. He, as the other people mentioned, had a difficult childhood, which triggered to commit more than 400 children murders. When he was a child he was sent to an orphanage where he was often hit, whose pain caused him erections. Furthermore, he used to send obscene letters to women. When he was in prison, he did not even know why he was there.

Those are just some examples of many people whose lives are really miserable, because their behaviour is, as they were fed up with the enviroment they are, as they were frustated because of all kind of atrocities they had to face when they were just little and innocent children. People as they change their behaviour because they want to fill a hole about the lack of power, and when they watch people sorrow they experience a feel of power and satisfaction, the same that they never had before. However, if they had experienced another lifestyle I am really sure everything would have been really different in the lives of all those criminals. So then, we as a society, as human beings have the responsibility in our hands of having a better world. In other words, we can give a good childhood to our sons, or keeping harmony between our families. With this, we contribute in certain aspects to have a better relationship between our fellows.

Paintings Report

 

During the class of English for specific purposes, we were shown different paintings from several well-known authors around the world. Before taking a look at all the paintings I just chose three of them which were the ones I felt more attracted to.

Afterwards, I started researching about each of them just for getting to know the most important features which made special those sorts of paintings and the reason why the authors became really famous among a lot of artists in certain periods of time.

For instance, I had chosen the painting named the bedroom at Arles by Vicent Van Gogh. As the name establishes, this is a painting in which the author shows his own bedroom while he was waiting for one of his friends in Arles. In my point of view, the use of colors is a little bit exaggerated. However, the most important characteristics is the way in which Van Gogh expresses his mood through colors as the brownish floor in the picture. At the same time, the objects in the paintings play an important role which represents Van Gogh’s desire for companionship and friendship reflected by two pitchers, two chairs, two pillows and two pictures in the same painting.

In all of his paintings Van Gogh expresses all his feelings and his perspective on the world, using colors that in real world are kind of weird. Though, there were other artists who were worried about expressing just a certain moment which was an important part of life as impressionism concerns. The Boatman Lunch by Renoir is a clear example where the author is showing just a particular moment in which his friends are relaxing on a balcony in a river in France. All the elements involved the audience the minimal plates and cups in the painting that are completely painted with all detail. In this picture, it is not more valuable the people’s faces than the bottles or the grapes on the table. Everything is well-made with all its details and peculiar characteristics as a whole because it is part of this exact moment. In this particular way of paintings, painters were focused on expressing whatever situation or thing in a particular moment. In other words, they were aware of using light to say that whatever thing was different in certain hours of the day. For instance, if the painting mentioned had been created two hours later, it would have been as a result another one because light made see and look things different.

Nevertheless, paintings as The Gleaners by Millet show a scene about real world and nature. Specially, Millet’s works dealt with expressing aspects which depicted the real situations at the moment. This was the most important feature that realism concerned about. In the painting it is highlighted the job of three women picking the remains up the harvest. Millet is showing the tiredness that those women have due to the labour they are doing. For this reason, this kind of paintings are well-known for dealing with real situation in the world but pointing out the labour of poor people instead of regarding aspects about high society.

Having known about those paintings made me think that all of them were made to express then author’s point of view and perspective about the world. Even though, they are using certain feature according to the tendency they were focused on. For instance, Van Gogh was worried about the use of colors to express his feelings more than specific moments as impressionism did. To Van Gogh it was more important to show through out his paintings the way he saw everything, maybe a person or a room in its inside than trying to make a copy of a photograph as impressionism wanted to reach. It is difficult for me to identify tendencies that have been really important through time; however, it is a window to know a little bit about certain periods of time and what an artist wanted to show with their paintings. I might not know very much about art but I like all the features that characterized every painting, specially the ones I have mentioned in this report.

The European Union Report

In the class of English for specific purposes we have a blog which was created by our teacher to give us material about the subjects we have seen during the classes. We were asked to read some information about the European Union and gather more information about it in order to understand better its concepts, objectives and its features. We were presenting just some aspects that made us have a clearer idea about it. To understand better what the European Union is, it is necessary to start from scratch, knowing the most important characteristics that this body implies.

The European Commission is a body which was created with the objective to establish an union between the entities in Europe. in which common interest and treaties between them trigger the equality between countries. It is composed by 27 Commissioners that operate it. Every Commissioner represents his state and those are representing the interest of The European Union as a whole.

One of the most important objectives of the creation of this body is to offer peace and economic stability towards European citizens. At the same time, as the body is responsible for proposing legislation and implementing decisions, it tries to face all the security and protection affairs to guarantee the welfare of all its entities. For this reason, all the members which are part of the European Union closely cooperate.

As the EU is worried about prosperity of all is citizens, it provides an economic and balanced development that triggers citizens and entities’ prosperity. It is known that EU supplies entrepreneurs a vital platform to compete between other markets in order to benefit European citizens. The solidarity criterion that it applies towards people is one of the several aids that involve the EU. For instance, when a natural disaster comes up, this body helps them from part of its budget.

At the same time, the usage of just one currency as the euro in European countries is a factor that has had a huge influence in its economy. The EU is the most important commercial potency around the world and it is due to the union of every part of its members because they work as a whole having only an unique voice of the European Union. All of this with the aid of increasing the economic development in European countries.

It was required to research from several resources to understand much better what the European Union exactly established. At the beginning, it was an easy work; however, it was interesting to know more about it. I think that a person who is an economist knows a lot about this body, though, I felt attracted by having information about something I did not know and I can understand now.

How to build up a brand?

 

When we offer a product to public, it is necessary to take into account how it will be presented and the impact it would have on people. This is not an easy task; consequently, we must bear in mind important aspects which play a crucial role to make our product successful among others.

Hence, it is essential to point out what branding stands for exactly. It is understood that branding is all about the application of marketing techniques to a specific product. At the same time, the process of communication is considered along with, for this reason, to build a brand involves feelings and emotions more than business itself. In view of that, to create an unforgettable brand, creativity is the tool for making a way up the ladder. Considering that, to achieve a meaningful brand, which represents our product, it is really important to follow certain aspects:

1.  Finding a special or singular distinction to your service or product in order to place it in the first category. We have to think deeplier what makes our product different and better than the others, what are the things that customers need and how our product can fulfill them.

2.  Create a word phrase which will make it unforgettable.

3.  Build a logo which will be the image and the name for your brand. This is an important aspect as well. Through the logo we are creating our vision, the vision of the business approach.

4.  Market the image: projecting images all the points as possible through the advertising, sponsorship and events. In this point, the values of the brand are involved. It means how people see our business. These aspects mentioned say more and build an image for customers. For example: sponsor certain events or charity. To create a logo, there are aspects that we can never forget. A logo must be clear and legible, simple and original.

Those are just some points we should consider to create a brand. However, not only creating the best advertisements is everything to reach success. This is the part of the whole. If we want to sell something, first at all, we should think that our product is the best, feeling that we are part of that. Even widespread this feeling to the employees who contribute to the development of the product and advertise it as much as possible through word of mouth.
